Birthday Parties

Comment from tara:
yeah, texas?????????? hmmph.
how could you think of leaving arkansas, especially with such fantastic birthday parties being thrown at me and barbie's house everytime you turn around/??? come on neale... think of the fun you will be missing!!!

True, it's going to be crappy moving to Dallas where I might only experience birthday parties 3 or so times a year. As opposed to Searcy where we have birthday parties every week. I will definately miss the fun parties. *Sigh* nostalgia.

Maybe we should have birthday parties at least twice a month just so we can have an excuse to eat cake and blow out candles. It would make life more of a phantasmagoric (ha, ha) collage of memories. We could celebrate other people's birthdays.

Like today it's Ice-T's birthday. He's 47. Or for Ashley, John McEnroe turns 46. Wouldn't it be fun to have theme birthday parties and we only listen to Ice-T and have tennis playing in the background? Maybe. We could play games called, Name that Tennis Star and Ice What? Other people might need to come up with the games. But we should at least try it sometime.

Movie Screensaver

I've gotten really bored with my screensavers. I think you can only look at the same pictures so many times. And now it's time to move on. I found a really cool program called MovieScreensaver 0.1. It plays movies through Windows Media Player that you have saved on your harddrive. It also gives some options on whether you want it to mute the volume and if you want the movie to start where it left off after you come back to your computer. Try it out. I've enjoyed it.

My only problem is that it hasn't been updated since September 19, 2002 and it has a few bugs. It seems to have problems if you put too many videos on the screensaver. One night I went to bed and got up and the screensaver had never come on and it somehow kept my monitor from going to standby. Other than that I've loved it.

Someone needs to work on this code. The author gives it to us on his website:

You should check out his site, he's developed a lot of different things (nothing too revolutionary).

Here's a direct link to the program:

Just read the ReadMe file and follow its instructions. It's really simple to get started.

Hope you enjoy.

Is this a blog?

So, in May we're probably going to be moving to Dallas. Is that good or bad? I'm not really sure. The plus is it's a big city, the minus is it's in Texas. And that's a pretty big minus. But we could still be stuck in Arkansas and that might be an even bigger minus. It's hard to really say though.

The only thing I really know is that I'm not looking forward to it. And I'm not really sure what a blog is or if I'm using it right. Is this what you do on a blog? Ramble on with nothing to say. It seems like other people have some interesting things, whereas I think my life might be boring spent watch Curb and eating baby carrots.

Oh, well. This is what the blog is ending up being. Maybe I'll just tell everyone what I like to download.

One thing I downloaded recently was WallMaster

WallMaster - free superb wallpaper changer utility for Windows!

Make sure and get the free one.

Sorry the button didn't show up. The program is pretty cool. It acts like a Mac does by changing the wallpaper on your computer whenever you want it to. It can be on a timer and you can set the size of the picture and the background color. I really enjoy it.

Well, that's it for now.

The Beast

Isn't this lovely?

Japanese Class

Our Japanese class went really well. I think the kids enjoyed it. We built a Japanese house in a room in the church building and talked to the kids about bowing and taking your shoes off in Japan. They got to sample some Pocky and we made a video from some of our own experiences in Japan that they got to watch on the "plane ride" over.

First Post

We'll See how this works. I've never blogged before.
